Paul Lin: Marketing in an era of perpetual beta
China's rapid embrace of new technologies and the ability of a new app or trend to reshape China's consumer environment have resulted in what Paul Lin, Chief Strategy Officer at OMD China and Chair of AmCham Shanghai’s marketing committee, calls a state of “perpetual beta.” Lin has worked at several world class agencies throughout his career and has extensive experience planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns across North America a the Asia Pacific region. He moved to China in 2011, and prior to that spent many years doing marketing and advertising in Canada. We discuss marketing in China, how industry changes are affecting the agency model, and how to succeed in an era of perpetual change.
