February is Black History Month - an opportunity to both remember and honor the struggles, and acknowledge the central role of African Americans in U.S. History. The City of Hillsboro is hosting a special community event on Tuesday, February 25th, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the ratification into the U.S. Constitution of the 15th Amendment, which granted African American men the right to vote; and throughout the month the Midland Library in Portland is hosting the Youth Curated Black History Traveling Museum - an exhibit created by Black Student Union groups from Portland metro high schools. Check out these and other informative and inspiring events in our area.
