EP 23: It's Time to Speak Up

Today I decided to forgo a regular episode in response to the crazy, broken world we live in. As a podcaster, I have built a platform from the ground up that is devoted to having my voice heard. And in this moment in time, I've come to the realization that I must do just that. Even if it's hard. Even if it's scary. Even if it feels impossible or uncomfortable. I am here to stand with you, and to make your voice heard. The tumultuous events of this past week has truly made me realize that I am called to speak up. Now, I'm calling you to do it too. (Disclaimer: This is NOT a comprehensive list. There is so much more out there to learn and do. These are just some places to start.) Petitions to sign: Text FLOYD to 55-156 Text JUSTICE to 668366 Text ENOUGH to 55156 Change.org (Justice for Breonna Taylor, Raise the Degree, George Floyd, Charge All Four Officers) Colorofchange.org (George Floyd) Organizations to donate to: George Floyd Memorial Fund Minnesota Freedom Fund Black Visions Collective The Innocence Project National Bail Out 400+1 Bail Fund (for Austin, TX specifically) + so many more! PERIOD. Educate yourself - it's your job to learn about this, not their job to teach you. Choose action over words. Have uncomfortable conversations with others (and yourself). Reflect on your privilege.  Actively decide to be an ally. And then prove it.
