Episode 214 - The Soundscape of Humanity

This episode of Living Myth begins with the plight of immature clown fish that increasingly become doomed to drift aimlessly at sea because they cannot hear the soundscape of coral reefs calling them home. The call to refuge is interrupted by the extreme volume of man-made noise that now pervades the oceans of the world. Michael Meade considers how the cycle of life for humans also becomes broken by the volume of noise, disinformation and distractions of the modern world.   For humans, the soundscape of home can be imagined as the call of the knowing self within, which has often been depicted as a golden fish waiting to be found. Despite all that separates, isolates and overwhelms us, the profound “soundscape of humanity” continues to call us to awaken to a greater sense of self. Even as the world suffers a scarcity of truth and meaning, and a loss of humane inclusion and understanding, there is an inner abundance and a sense of refuge waiting to be found in the depths of each human soul.   Thank you for listening to and supporting this podcast.  You can hear Michael Meade live by joining his new online series “Hidden Abundance” that begins on Friday, Feb. 12.
