Be Water / The Next Gen of Electricians

Hey everyone. Welcome back to the Modern Electrician Podcast! We’re happy you’re hear because we’ve got a fun episode to share with you today. In this episode, I touch on a concept I picked up watching Bruce Lee’s new 30 for 30 documentary called “Be Water.” The concept involves allowing yourself to go with the flow. To become your opponent as opposed to meeting it head on. Now, obviously in Bruce Lee’s case, an opponent is a person who wished to best him in combat. However, as electricians and tradespeople, our opponent can be many things. A challenging client, a frustrating situation or a job going sideways. These things can happen on a daily basis and if we meet these challenges as “water” we can flow around them, be flexible and turn our challenge into something that works for us. I bring this up because today’s interview is with a young Hawaiian sparky named Brian Marrocco. Brian is not just a second generation sparky, he’s also a surfer and motocross rider. He’s also only 23 years old and he’s spending his days dedicating himself to something larger than himself in an effort to shape himself into the best version of himself possible. Pretty incredible for a 23 year old, if you ask me. I hope you enjoy this conversation and I hope that this coming work week, you can approach all of your challenges by being water. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/doug-powell9/message
