It's Handled - Aura Vasquez
Erin and Aura met at the Just Desserts Fundraiser for the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters. Aura caught Erin's eye from across the room, dressed to the tens, wearing a cape, like the SHEro she is. She also had an uncanny resemblance to the fictional character Olivia Pope from one of Erin's favorite television shows, Scandal. Aura, born and raised in Colombia, moved to the United States to escape the era of violence. She taught herself English. She worked nights and weekends to put herself through college. Inspired by Barak Obama, Aura decided it was time to be part of the solution, get involved, and make a difference at the local level. She is now a candidate for Los Angeles City Council 2020 (District 10). #AuraForThePeople Erin gets Aura to open up about her personal life, something she hasn't shared with the public. Is she single, married, dating? How does Aura do it, balance campaigning, work, life in general? Are men intimidated by her strong opinions, independence, and being in the public eye?
