JL 041: Geeta Novotny - Empowering Your Voice, Healing Through Sound, and Transcending to New Volumes

Geeta Novotny is a classically-trained opera singer with over twenty years of experience as an internationally acclaimed, award-winning vocalist. Throughout the course of her professional career, Geeta performed at many of the world’s most prestigious venues, like New York City’s Carnegie Hall, The Metropolitan Opera House, the Los Angeles Opera, and the Aspen Music Festival. After a lifelong battle with severe asthma and a corresponding spiritual awakening, though, her path shifted away from these stages and towards something much bigger than she anticipated. While she may humbly deny titles like healer and guru, Geeta is truly the most genuine epitome of each of these. Her awakening eventually led to the creation of Revolution Voice, an innovative method and practice that uses the voice and sound as a bridge between music and wellness, while delving extensively into the art and science behind these modalities. Her multi-dimensional approach to vocal training, vocal coaching, singing workshops, and sound therapy affords deep healing, self-discovery and empowerment from the inside-out.    Three key takeaways: 1. One of the greatest sources of therapeutic healing is our own voice and unique sonic vibration. 2. Sound healing has been clinically shown to be an effective treatment for trauma, stress-related disorders, chronic pain, and chronic illness. 3. Everything in this Universe, animate and inanimate, vibrates to a sacred frequency.    We also talk about: How Geeta’s childhood created the scaffolding for each of her gifts as a vocalist, sound healer, and mother. The biological foundations and mechanisms of breath work, singing, and meditation. L ’s healing session with Geeta, and how it has since influenced her voice, writing, relationships, and sense of power. Unlocking the body’s energetic centers for deeper release, healing, and rebirth.  The impact of sexual trauma on the sacral and throat chakras. How specific vibrations of sound can break through emotional, physical, and energetic scar tissue. Weaving together sonic geometry, physics, spirituality, and intuition to create a healing experience unique to each client. The significance of quartz crystal singing bowls in sound healing and the connection to Mother Nature. The importance of set, setting, and integration following healing sessions of any modality; and the role each plays in sustaining the transformative internal and external shifts.   Guest Resources: Geeta’s Website Geeta’s Instagram
