It explores the periods of 'harsh rule' described in the hadith after the reign of the Four Righteous Caliphs, namely the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties. It also touches upon the short just reign of 'Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz as a sign of the Last Day, and situates the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), "Islam shall remain triumphant and supported until there have been twelve caliphs, all of whom hail from the Quraysh."
