And we’re going to study the conjugation of the verb to like, one of the most common verbs in the Portuguese language. The verb gostar (to like) is a regular verb ending in AR. If you still don’t know how to conjugate regular verbs in Portuguese, watch the videos about regular verbs here: https://youtu.be/YxQZUxGtMbs Today, we are going to study the conjugation of the verb to like (gostar): Eu gosto Você gosta Ela ou ele gosta Nós gostamos Vocês gostam Elas ou eles gostam A very important detail about the use of the verb to like is that it is always followed by the preposition "de". For example: Eu gosto de viajar. Eu gosto de chocolate. The rule is very simple. You are going to use the verb to like (gostar), plus the preposition "de," plus a noun or a verb in its infinitive form. That is, an unconjugated verb. For example: Eu gosto de viajar. Eu gosto de estudar. Eu gosto de ler. You can use any verb in its infinitive form using this same structure. Let's look at some examples with nouns: Eu gosto de chocolate. Eu gosto de música. Eu gosto de cachorros. Now use this podcast to practice the use of the verb gostar (to like) while also practicing pronunciation. I will say each sentence three times, one tome more slowly, and two times more naturally. After each sentence, I'll give you some time to repeat. Eu gosto de viajar. Você gosta de ler. Ela gosta de estudar. Nós gostamos de música. Vocês gostam de chocolate. Eles gostam de cachorros. Very well! Listen to this episode o at least two more times to assimilate the content and practice your pronunciation. Thank you for listening!
