The veteran actress will share screen space with Lisette Alexis. This series aims to expand on the much-popular National Treasure franchise and is narrated from the perspective of Jess (played by Alexis). She is a DREAM-er and launches a quest to locate her lost family and protect a precious American treasure as well. Marianne and Cormac Wibberley have penned the pilot episode, which is to be directed by Mira Nair. Multiple Smurfs movies in the works at Paramount, NickelodeonParamount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation are developing several Smurfs projects for the recent future. The first one is slated to be a musical film, scheduled to begin production this year, prior to its release on December 20, 2024. The second project includes a second season of the CG-animated TV series The Smurfs, and has been greenlit for 26 new episodes.New Michael Jackson biopic greenlit A new biopic on legendary singer Late Michael Jackson is in the works from Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King. The movie claims to provide an “in-depth portrayal of the complicated man who became the King of Pop” and also recreate some of his most iconic performances. Lionsgate will distribute the movie titled Michael worldwide. Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Dane Dehaan cast in Christopher Nolan’s OppenheimerAmazing Spider-Man 2 star Dane Dehaan has come aboard Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated biopic Oppenheimer, based on the life of one of the key figures in atomic bomb development. The film already boasts of a staggering cast that includes names such as Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, and Benny Safdie. Dehaan, who essayed the role of Green Goblin in the 2014 Spider-Man film, last appeared on the big screen in 2017 with Valerian and the City of a  Thousand Planets. Amazon Prime Video renews Reacher for season 2Days after the premiere of the first season, Amazon Prime Video has renewed Reacher for a sophomore instalment. The action-drama series, led  by Alan Ritchson, centres around a veteran military officer named Jack Reacher who unwittingly gets involved in a dangerous criminal conspiracy. The show is based on author Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series. Beauty and the Beast prequel series casts Rita OraThe upcoming prequel Beauty and the Beast Disney Plus series has cast British singer Rita Ora as the lead. Ora will essay the role of a fugitive with unique abilities, and one who carries a secret that threatens the stability of the kingdom. Ora will join the cast which already boasts stars such as Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Briana Middleton, Jelani Alladin, and Fra Fee. Apple+ TV announces comedy series Mrs America starring Kristen Wiig  Actress Laura Dern is set to executive producer Mrs America, an upcoming comedy series, for Apple TV+. The series is an adaptation of Juliet McDaniel’s novel and is set in the 70s around Maxine Simmons played by Wiig.
