The film will focus on Barbara, the daughter of Police Commissioner Gordon. Aquino is essaying the role of Barbara’s friend Aysia Yeoh. Netflix greenlights Michelle Buteau’s Survival of the ThickestNetfllix has greenlit an eight episode scripted comedy show starring Michelle Buteau. The show, titled Survival of the Thickest, is based on Buteau’s own 2020 essay about a plus sized Black woman trying to handle her life after she is suddenly single. Buteau’s earlier works with Netflix include Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia and Always Be My Maybe, among others.
