First Selectman Kevin Moynihan launched an initiative to improve communications from Town Hall, in part through press releases to be issued to local and area news organizations. Part of the idea is to place the PR in news outlets that are increasingly under-staffed and need the content. We talk to Moynihan about his initiative, as well as UConn Associate Journalism Professor Marie Shanahan about the state of community news.
