Pandemic motherhood's primal scream

This pandemic hasn’t been easy on any of us, but moms have borne the brunt of it.  Women, particularly women of color, saw the biggest job losses over the last year, and a big contributing factor to that was lack of childcare. More moms report being the primary caregiver in their homes than dads. And more moms report getting physically sick from stress and worry than dads. It was all of that information that led Jessica Bennett to open the Primal Scream Line, a phone number where you can call and just vent or laugh or cry or scream about the parental pressure cooker so many of us are living in. Primal Scream is also a package of stories in The New York Times about the challenges facing mothers during the pandemic. You can leave a message at the primal scream line at (212) 556-3800 GUEST: Jessica Bennett, editor-at-large for the New York Times Support the show by making a gift to KUOW: http://bit.ly/seattlenow
