The Street Priest

Father Peter Young's life would make for a great movie. The Albany-based priest spent decades doing everything in his power to help men in the Capital Region suffering from alcoholism, addiction and homelessness get treatment and get their lives on track. Sometimes that meant taking a beating, emotionally and physically. Now 90 years old, the beloved icon is reflecting on his life of service, and doing what he can still to help. On this episode of The Eagle, reporter Lynda Edwards talks about her recent profile of Fr. Young, and the lasting imprint he has made on those he has helped. Also on this episode, health reporter Bethany Bump talks about a new study that estimates more than 4,000 New York children have lost a parent to COVID-19. Times Union Editor Casey Seiler goes over top headlines, including the death of former State Senator Joseph Bruno, Governor Andrew Cuomo's new COVID-19 hotspot regulations, and the experimental drug from Regeneron that President Donald Trump has taken to treat his COVID-19.
