Shri Ram-Bharat Samvaad
This dialogue from the Ramayana highlights Bharat's deep loyalty and sacrifice. After learning of his father King Dasharath's death and Ram's exile, Bharat rejects the throne, insisting his happiness lies in serving Ram and Sita. Initially suspicious, Lakshman is reassured by Ram, who asserts Bharat’s unwavering integrity. Bharat, feeling guilty for Ram's exile due to his mother Kaikeyi, meets Ram in the forest and pleads with him to return to Ayodhya. Bound by duty, Ram refuses. After discussions, it’s decided Ram will return after fourteen years, while Bharat vows to live as a hermit, managing the kingdom in Ram’s name.
