We know that older people are most at risk for getting severe symptoms from coronavirus, but why aren’t children getting that sick? Studies have shown that children can contract the virus at the same rates as adults, but the symptoms are not as bad. It all could come down to a person’s underlying health conditions. While the immune system is fighting the virus it could also be exacerbating these underlying health factors.
