Sidewalk Chalk combine musical complexity with lyrical directness on "An Orchid Is Born"
On their new album, "An Orchid Is Born," Chicago collective Sidewalk Chalk deliver an impressive 16-track collection of complex and intricate Hip Hop / Jazz / Soul fusion punctuated by Rico Sisney's direct socio-political lyricism. Rico spoke with Jesse Menendez about the new album and his thoughts on why he chose to be more explicit and direct in his writing this time around. An Orchid Is Born is out now.
