#200 Reggae Resistance (21st June 2020)
This is our 200th show on Sheffield Live. We were talking about what we were going to do to celebrate this milestone. Usually, we’d be doing another oddball show but it didn’t sit right with us. A couple of weeks ago, for show 198, we did a show called “Rhythms of Resistance”, songs that spoke to protest, struggle and change. Those with a keener ear might have noticed we only played one song from the reggae family tree. To be honest, there are too many to choose from, enough to fill a show by themselves (possibly more). So that’s what we’re doing tonight! 2hrs of ska, rocksteady, roots reggae and more. We’re didn't talk much in this show as we wanted to focus on the power of the music so we’re writing this to explain what we’re doing and say thanks for the support over the last 199 shows.
