The Long Island Serial Killer (Part Two: Lost Girls)

On December 10th, 2010, Suffolk County police officer John Mallia was taking his canine partner for a bit of training off of the Ocean Parkway. Located on Long Island, this was the area where sex worker Shannan Gilbert had disappeared from months beforehand. Little did Mallia know the decade-in-the-making can of worms he would unearth, exposing this quaint New York community to the terrifying killer living among them. This episode dives into the lives of the four victims found in that initial discovery: Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. These women lived tragic lives, and all met the same ending, punctuated with a question mark.

This is part two of three.
