For the first time in the history of mankind, more people are living in cities than in rural regions. In fact, 55 percent of the world’s population currently live in urban areas. And by 2050, more than two thirds of the world population is expected to reside in cities. But how will this trend affect mobility in the future? Which transportation concepts will cities need in order to handle the movement of so many people? And which role will the automobile play in all of this?
