Kim Ross - Life as a Working Mom through Divorce and Diagnosis

Today’s guest is my inspiring friend, Kim Ross. Kim is Director of International Productions at Warner Bros Entertainment, so I thought we'd be discussing the impact of media on our well being. This episode turned out to be so much more. Her story, both extraordinary and relatable, is exactly what Slo Mo aims to be about. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, Kim began asking herself the hardest question: “How can we, as individuals come to terms with the fact that one-day we won’t be here?”. As a single mother working a full time and very successful career, she’s still managed to learn valuable lessons from mortality that she tries to pass onto her 10 year old daughter to prepare her for the challenges life throws our way.Listen as we discuss: The bliss and break up of first love Recognizing where compromise ends and abuse begins Relearning your single identity and self-worth after a relationship The emotional and physical responsibilities of single motherhood Powering over chronic pain to keep a source income Dealing with a heart-sinking cancer diagnosis and treatment; and, surprisingly, emerging with a firm feeling of gratitude and acceptance for the hardships overcome Instagram: @mo_gawdatFacebook: @mo.gawdat.officialTwitter: @mgawdatLinkedIn: /in/mogawdatConnect with Kim on Instagram @MissKimRossDon't forget to subscribe to Slo Mo for new episodes every Monday and Thursday.
