Facebook flexes its muscles but will Australia flinch?

Australia’s Facebook users woke yesterday to a very different newsfeed. In response to the Morrison government’s proposed media bargaining laws, Facebook banned all publishers and users in Australia from viewing or sharing any news articles on its platform. The bargaining code, which passed through the House of Reps on Wednesday evening, will require big digital platforms to pay media outlets to use their content.
