1. India passes a grim milestone today as it becomes only the third country to report over 4 lakh Covid deaths after the US and Brazil. Half of the fatalities are reported during a second wave that overwhelmed the healthcare system and crematoriums. 2. The central government has sent six high-level multi-disciplinary public health teams to six states reporting a high number of COVID-19 cases.
