Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is threatening to veto part of the state budget that funds the legislature after Democrats denied a vote on sweeping voting restrictions. Naomi Osaka, the No. 2 women's tennis player, has withdrawn from the U.S. Open citing mental health reasons. The Atlantic hurricane season begins today and now there will be more focus on keeping people safe after the storms pass.
