Episode 9: 2017 ATP World Tour Finals

Welcome back toooooo…. Hey, Great Shot!! After taking a week to soak in the California sun, co-host Max Rothman returns to the booth with a fresh goatee to join co-host Alex Gruskin in a discussion about the 2017 ATP World Tour Finals. The two marvel at the quality of play they witnessed throughout the event, thoroughly debate the grand slam potential of finalist David Goffin, and revel in the new statistic Gruskin found during his research for the pod, distance covered per match. As though they are cursed by a witch, the two once again discuss what the hell to expect in 2018 from Jack Sock, particularly after he ended his year with a Masters title and WTF semifinal appearance. Never to be forgotten, the episode ends with a wonderful Changeover Chat discussing the importance of Davis Cup, notable ATP Year-End rankings, and who the hosts would want to sit in their player box if they ever played in Wimbledon Centre Court. A special thank you to our two new fake sponsors as well, Wilson Pro Grips and the Grunt App, for providing necessary comic relief during a particularly long and entertaining episode. As always, the opinions in this episode are our own, and we are happy to debate them with anyone kind enough to listen to or comment on our podcast. A special shoutout to Super Producers Max Fliegner and Daniel Westhoff, the men behind the scenes who make these episodes possible. Thank you for listening, and we hope you enjoy our ninth episode!!
