118 - Managed Debt And Cup Regret

Cherries posted a £60m+ loss for the last financial year in some jaw-dropping figures that were released this morning. AFC Bournemouth also posted confirmation that its owner is in to the club to the tune of £160m - a concerning backdrop off the pitch to what has been a fruitless season on it. The cost of Covid has hit hard, but whilst the numbers are fairly similar to other Premier League clubs accounts last season, fans will have a number of questions about the investment going forward, the extremely high percentage of wages vs turnover, and the growing debt that our club seems to accrue… so we’ve tried to gauge the reaction on Twitter this morning and discuss what we've learned - with Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, and Neil Dawson. Plus, we cannot NOT mention the last football match that AFC Bournemouth turned up to, or more to the point - didn't turn up to. Therefore, with the additional help of Mr Tigz and Tom Jordan, we review the fateful home defeat at the hands of Southampton in the FA Cup Quarter Finals. Also, a big thanks to the guys at Cherries Red Army for supplying the audio sound-bytes too! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms.
