Why does India have an abysmal record in curing childhood cancers?

Did you know that cancer in children constitutes 5.5% of total cancer cases in India according to the Indian Council for Medical Research? A study published in 2016 stated that this percentage has more than doubled from the previous decade. However, only a small percentage of children suffering from cancer receive or are able to complete the treatment.
