Why are people obsessed with former Texas senate candidate, Beto O'Rourke. Are liberals projecting their values onto Beto? Despite his voting record, we conclude that the spectacle of Beto makes him an early favorite to win the Democratic nomination to unseat Trump. Is that a good thing? Will progressive activists support Beto's nomination over Bernie, Kamala, or Elizabeth Warren? Will any of this matter if we're stuck in a political trance?
