S1 Ep10: Set It Off and the Case of the Floor Potatoes

On this episode of Dazed and Amused, hosts Kirsten and Bee watch the 1996 American crime action thriller Set It Off featuring Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, and Kimberly Elise. Frankie (Vivica) loses her job after being discriminated against due to not following "proper" procedure during a bank robbery and starts working with Stoney (Jada), Cleo(Queen Latifah), and Tisean (Kimberly) for a corporate cleaning company. In trying to find the initial robbers, Detective Strode, the  same detective who interrogated Frankie, ends up shooting one of the Stoney's brother thinking he was the suspect. Kimberly, unable to make ends meet, has to bring her son to work, who ends up accidentally drinking a cleaning agent, loses her son to CPS. Desperate for money and a angry at the system,  these four inner-city women start to rob banks in Los Angeles, but interests change as they get more involved causing strife between the women.
