The new urgency in the fight against COVID-19
We begin this episode of The ReidOut with new urgency in the fight against COVID-19 with the U.S. crossing the 35 million case milestone late Sunday night. Today, the White House said 70 percent of all U.S. adults have had at least one vaccine dose, almost a month after President Biden's original goal of reaching that mark by July 4th. Florida Agriculture Commissioner and Democratic candidate for governor Nikki Fried encourages COVID-19 vaccination saying, "We know that vaccines work... please put yourself into the shoes of those parents who are trying to put their kids back into school." Next, Rep. Tim Ryan joins us on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy joking "it would be hard not to hit" Speaker Nancy Pelosi with a gavel. Then, Sen. Alex Padilla discusses the crisis of millions facing eviction with the end of the federal moratorium stating, "During a pandemic, do not kick people out of their homes and do not put them on the streets." All this and more in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
