On October 16th, 2012, the city of Gresham, Oregon came to a halt when 21-year-old Whitney Heichel was reported missing. Her husband, Clinton, her friends, family, and church all came together to search for her. With a single gas station purchase and fuzzy surveillance footage as the only clues, the frantic search escalated by the hour. When the Heichel’s friends and neighbors, Johnathan Holt, started to act strangely, the police finally had a lead. Were Johnathan’s claims of being mugged factual? Did Whitney run away?
