1. Narendra Giri, the head of a top religious body, Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, has died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj town. Narendra Giri, who headed one of the largest religious bodies of saints in the country, was found dead at his home earlier Monday evening. Anand Giri, a disciple of Narendra Giri, has been detained from Haridwar in connection with the suicide case. 2. 'Pleased to meet new UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss', says India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. India will resume the export and donations of excess vaccines next month, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on Monday. India, the world's biggest maker of vaccines overall, stopped vaccine exports in April to focus on inoculating its own population as infections exploded. 6. The United States will lift an 18-month-old travel ban on the European Union and Britain, allowing vaccinated travelers to enter beginning in November, reports said Monday. The easing of travel restrictions, imposed by Donald Trump as the Covid-19 pandemic first erupted, would mark a significant shift by President Joe Biden at a time of strained relations with European allies.
