005: Adriana Carrig Interview on CHARTING your OWN PATH + SPREADING KINDNESS
In this episode: Staying optimistic through the hard stuff Deciding not to care what others think Where were you, where are you, a where do you want to be? Being resourceful - figure it out! Be kind a pass it on Adriana Carrig is a powerhouse entrepreneur who is trying to change the world one word at a time. Inspired by her own experiences growing up and enduring years of girl on girl bullying, she wanted to change what she saw as a negative bonding tool that many girls have the tendency to use - coming together by putting down others. As the founder of Little Words Project, her mission is to encourage women to respect and empower one another rather than to compete with one another. It is her firm belief that there is plenty of success to go around, and we can truly succeed if and when we learn to stop competing and start supporting. I’m so excited to share today’s episode with you all, where we have a truly honest discussion a Adriana opens up about her experience a how she took the noise around her and decided to instead turn it into something impactful. She shares with us how she didn’t let her lack of knowledge or expertise stop her from starting something she was excited about, but instead it encouraged her to embrace those around her, BELIEVE that she could and just go for it. “If we can all kind of remind ourselves of those moments of just feeling like possibility is out there, and that we have an option. We always have an option a a choice, no matter where you are in life, there is somewhere, in a fold, an option.” PUMP-UP SONG: Cough Syrup by Young the Giant Quotes: “You cannot change what people think of you, you cannot change how people are going to perceive you through their lenses. All you can do is be confident in how you view yourself, put that woman out there a not give a shit anymore about what other people think.” “You have to just actively decide no, not today. Today I am gonna be myself a I’m not gonna care.” “The first one through the wall is always the bloodiest.” – Bill Carrig “If you want it, you CAN achieve it.” – Adrianna’s mom “You are the architect of your own destiny.” “You cannot compare yourself to the left or the right, you can only compare yourself forward a backwards.” “It’s okay to keep learning a to be different.” “When you build your own self-esteem, suddenly you’re building your own confidence. And when you have confidence, you’re going after your dreams.” “Do whatever you would do to make sure that you stay proud of yourself when this is all said and done, and that really gonna be the thing that makes you take that next step.” “Stop questioning it. Stop worrying, stop thinking a just do.” Resources: www.littlewordsproject.com use code “EMPOWERHER” for 15% off! Connect on Instagram
