Ep 2: One Speech Away From Finding Fulfillment

In this episode, we get a chance to speak with Stephen Shedletzky, Head of Brand Experience at Simon Sinek Inc. shares how he overcame a fear of public speaking and a speech impediment. Stephen grew up with a stutter and used to be terrified of the prospect of stammering while speaking. After giving a five minute talk in college and a ton of blood, sweat, and tears, Steven walked away fulfilled for the first time in his life. He vividly explains what this felt like and how it impacted others. He also expounds on how the vulnerability he put forth accelerated relationships with people in that room, many of whom he still maintains relationships with today. Near the end of the episode, Stephen also shares how his grandfather Zaidi, a World War II prison camp survivor, influenced the decision to leave a corporate job in order to live a life he was proud of, taking advantage of the opportunity afforded to him by his grandfather’s struggles and sacrifices.
