Her first entry into dieting was through a nutritional shake and meal supplement company. They were having a 5 week weight loss challenge and with her disciplined background she went all in. The pattern would go g restrict for 5 weeks a lose weight g eat whatever she wanted a gained all the weight back g then decide to do the next challenge. After a year and a half she was tired of the shakes but then developed a really bad sugar craving, couldn't stop emotional eating a no longer fit into any of her clothes.
