At that point, Dan had lost around 30 lbs down from 224–he is 6'2". This past Christmas, he gained to 232 lbs. The worst part was, he felt terribly. His cough came back and he generally felt much sicker. Dan got back on the wagon, and he has been more intentional with his fat-eating and carb avoidance. Since the New Year, Dan has dropped 32 lbs and is sitting at 200! For Dan, a lot of this was breaking an addiction. Some people can't just have a slice of cake... they have to have the whole thing and Dan is one of those people. It's frustrating for him: he thought he had a lot of control, but when it comes to sugar, that goes out the window. For some people, Life Into Living isn't so easy. If you're an addict, break the cravings, don't give into LIL. If your brain searches for sugar, don't give into it with "just a cookie" or something of the like. POST-DINNER CRAVINGS A lot of people feel cravings after they eat dinner. Your brain is hunting for more food now that your hormones are going. For some people, it's because they're used to dessert. Vinnie's suggestion: have nothing, or having a little charcuterie like Europeans do!
