These days, he largely acts as a consultant to the livestock feed industry. How the animals eat do affect what the cow produces. Butter in the average grocery store is dairy that is pooled together from tons of cows. Kerrygold is a little different. In Europe, butter has to be 85% fat, while here, it only needs to be 80%. THE VALUE OF CATTLE On large farms, they may have specific people whose sole job is to take good care of the animals. On small farms, there are other pluses, too. About 2/3rds of the land we have to grow food is only really fit for livestock. Africa, which has the biggest growing population, is particularly poorly-suited for anything other than livestock. Also, cattle is incredibly important for the environment and for grasslands and the like. India has about 30% of the world's cows and the cows there tend to be less efficient. Rice produces about 80% of the greenhouse gasses cows do. PERFECT FOODS The closest thing to a perfect food is an egg. You have all of your vitamins and amino acids (but short on a couple minerals). The next closest may be milk. Meat is so chock full of nutrients and the like. So many other foods that make up the bulk of vegetarian/vegans' diets is lacking in nutrients.
