Campfire Conversation:
Eric and Ana dive into what Drink Wisconsinbly has called “one of Wisconsin’s most precious unnatural
resources”: dive bars. We welcome Jared Schutz of the Wisco_Dive_Bars Instagram account into The
Cabin, along with food and drink extraordinaire Josh Ostermann, to talk about dive bars: their general
definition, frequent characteristics, must-haves, and their unique nature. Wisconsin has more of these
than most states, and most have a quirky thing or two about them that makes them worth a visit. With
the experiences of this crew, we dive into selections across northwestern Wisconsin and describe what
makes them a good dive bar. Everything from historic taverns to VFW halls, along with some
establishments considered a central meeting place of the town, gets covered. So pour yourself a cheap
tap beer, grab some pretzels, a beef stick, or a pickled egg, and get ready for a discussion that will help
guide you to finding some of Wisconsin’s Best Dive Bars in northwestern Wisconsin. And yes, we will
cover other regions soon!
Jared checks out dive bars across the state and shares videos and their unique quirks on Instagram.
