Stocks extend declines as vaccine rally cools further, daily COVID-19 cases hit record Nov 12

Stocks fell Thursday, with the Dow and S&P 500 adding to Wednesday’s losses, as optimism over a COVID-19 vaccine gave way to fear that rising coronavirus infections will derail a still evolving recovery. The pandemic has tightened its grip on the world’s largest economy, with new COVID-19 cases hitting a record of more than152,000 on Wednesday alone, according to data from Johns Hopkins University and Bloomberg.
