Oprah, Diane Sawyer a Gleason Documentary Producer/Journalist, Kimi Culp

I got to sit down with Kimi, who cut her teeth in journalism working in high level positions for such little-known slackers as Diane Sawyer, Barbara Walters and Oprah Winfrey. Among other gems, Kimi shares how one of the pivotal moments in her career took place just before she graduated college when, as an intern, she was called to report on an occurrence that we would later come to know as The Columbine Massacre. She walks me through the ups and downs that eventually led her to the point where she left journalism to produce one of my favorite films of 2016, the critically acclaimed documentary, "Gleason" (if you haven't seen this, go watch it now - it will destroy you and inspire you) as a passion project to tell the story of one of her best friends. Gleason was purchased by Amazon after a competitive bidding war at the Sundance Film Festival and subsequently found itself on almost every shortlist for the Oscars. In her spare time, Kimi's underachieving work ethic helped her co-author the best-selling book, "A Letter to My Dog", which has sold eighty thousand copies around the world and has been translated into three languages. She's also raised three wonderful kids who never forget to say "please" and "thank you" to Mr. Del Negro (that's me, guys... I'm Mr. Del Negro. At least someone gives me that respect).
