A viral social media post claims 2016 saw 84,734 rapes by 81,000 muslims in India. These figures have been attributed to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). This is false. Per NCRB, the total number of rapes in 2016 stood at 38,947. The NCRB doesn't the relegious or caste status of either victim or perpetrator.
