Itanagar and Naharlagun in Arunchal Pradesh have seen widespread protest and arson on the issue of extending Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) to non Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribes (APST; Deoris, Sonowal Kacharis, Morans, Adivasis, Mishings and Gorkhas). The house of ex-CM Chowna Mein was burnt down. The state government has put aside the decision to issue certificates for now.
