#1 Introduction and Preface

Preface This century will be the century of the brain. Intelligence will define success of an individual. Developed and used properly, intelligence of a child will take him to greater heights. I believe majority of people may be 80%, may not be using their brain and intelligence to its best potential. Miseries, sorrows and happiness of people spring from it. Do you realize that you do not use all your intelligence? Use it to the full brim, and you will find further gates opening up. Help the child reach his or her best intellectual capability. That is the aim of this book. While bringing up the child, parents need to know how does he grow and how he becomes intelligent in due course of time. And how his intelligent behavior grows to the society's standards. As the pressure for intelligence increases, the child is asked to perform in different aspects of life equally well. The result in most cases is disastrous. Facts about various facets of intelligence will be presented before the reader. I hope, with scientific facts before the parents, they can guide their intelligent children better and canalize their energies. Similarly a mentally or physically challenged child can be encouraged to use his full potential. Miraculous results can be discovered. You will wonder what I am saying is true for your child as well, or I am just trying to please. The mind is like a parachute; you must open it up, if you want to use it. And also, mind you, well in time. Let me tell you once more, in human body, in the long run, function defines the form. Use a system or a part again and again and in the long run, you will find that the organ adapts to this new challenge. It's a reason why experience provides wisdom. All sports people; tycoons, statesmen and scientists do the same, and get the results. The central issue is control. Control yourself, your body, your mind and focus. With concentration you will find the results. Children do miracles if they are guided properly too. It is true that good environment stimulates and bad environment depresses the child. Look at the atmosphere at Harvard and IIT, and you know the difference it can make. If one wants to learn however, one has to leave ego out of the campus of learning. A step-by-step effort from early childhood by the parents can make them realize the dreams for their children. When should one begin! Even before marriage, a thought should be given to future. Apart from some aspects of intelligence, we shall discuss common problems in day-to-day life. In addition, as these topics form a total picture, some time will be spent on genetics and growth and development. A good food improves and poor diet reduces child's IQ, growth and development. Enormous amount of literature is available on each of the subjects, so only an outline can be mentioned.
