Survival of the Fittest

The Sustainable Development Goals, or the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. By definition, “sustainable development” is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising those of the future. It begins with respect for the future generation as an important stakeholder. Over the next fifteen years, youth will not only directly experience the outcome of SDGs and plans but will also be the key driver for their successful implementation. If we fail to realize the potential of the current generation, the entire society loses out greatly. Young people today can create a dynamic force of political change and social transformation if they are included in decision-making processes. In this episode, we explore all the different ways in which we can engage the youth in the endeavor for a qualitative future and the significance of their participation.
