A social reformer from India Nanaji Deshmukh’s full name was Chandikadas Amritrao Deshmukh. Nanaji Deshmukh was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan award in 1999 and India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 2019 by the Government of India. Nanaji Deshmukh was a leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and had good relations with the opposition as well. He was well-known for his remarkable work in the fields of health, education and rural self-reliance. In spite of being born in the state of Maharashtra, Nanaji Deshmukh worked for the betterment of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
